The First of Many
◆ ☕️ 2 min readNo, this won’t be the place where I try to convince you to do jumping jacks in your living room with toilet paper rolls while I “coach” you through Zoom. I won’t rid you of your money to sell you on things that will do fuck all for your training progress. It doesn’t fit me.
Depending on the specifics of your usual training, you will probably lose some of your training adaptations because the current conditions might be suboptimal to drive progress in those areas. You should still do what you can but don’t set unrealistic expectations. It’s not a situation we have too much control over. At this point in time, you’re probably better off aiming the majority of your efforts towards improving your knowledge of the theory behind training. So that once you’re able to apply it in full capacity you’ll be ahead of the curve, training smarter than ever.
With that being said, I’ve decided to start a blog with the intent of bringing you applicable content on all things strength and conditioning. The content to follow will challenge the depth of your understanding and offer practical and scientific insight into the world of sport performance. Let it guide you past the clowns that there is an abundance of in this industry. Let it keep you on the path towards the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
Hopefully this blog will benefit athletes and coaches alike (and anyone in-between and on either side of those two). Don’t expect this to be an overly-academic piece of writing. It will include specific terminology along with citations where appropriate but I’m trying to keep this enjoyable for everyone, including myself. Don’t expect my writing to be flawless. I’d rather spend my time on putting out valuable content than producing beautifully written prose that effectively says nothing. Can’t do it all.
What I do need to address is that the blog will include a high concentration of individual bias (as you might have already realized), just like any content anyone ever puts out. Don’t be offended by what I might say. Think for yourself, take with you what you find useful, and throw away the rest.
Whereas I might not currently know where this road will lead us, I assure you we won’t settle for anything less than “Absolute Greatness”.
Not sure on the uploading schedule as of yet. Might do a few pieces every week. Might not.
